Nataša Novaković

Nataša Novimage1aković graduated from the Faculty of Law in Zagreb and completed specialization studies, Advanced Master of European Studies, at the Faculty of Political Science. In the Croatian Employers' Association (CEA) she has long been the legal advisor to the general director, but in the last two years she has specialized in the labor market and the development of human potential. Also, since 2013 she has been the coordinator in Croatia for the United National initiative for socially responsible business, the Global Compact, and for which she has lobbied for the economic empowerment of women and against their discrimination in business.

The effort that CEA is investing in gender policy has been noticed by the European Union. Ms. Novaković was a panelist at an event organized in Brussels by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) on the role of business associations in promoting the economic empowerment of women through access to management positions and the development of women's entrepreneurship. Ms. Novaković also participated in public discussions on Strategy for Gender Equality of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which was adopted last year.

As part of the two-year project Removing the Glass Ceiling, in which CEA was a partner of Attorneys for Gender Equality, several workshops were held for human resource managers and lawyers in companies who play a key role in ensuring equal starting and career positions for both genders. At the beginning of this year, CEA presented its Database of Women in Business, which was the end result of the project that Ms. Novaković managed and whose goal is to demonstrate that at any moment there are qualified women ready to take management positions in companies.

In addition to all of the above, it is important to emphasize that outside of CEA Ms. Novaković is also engaged in the issue of gender equality as a member of the management board of the Croatian Association of Women in the Legal Profession.
