Robert Torre is a psychiatrist and a regular columnist for the weekly magazine Globus, where he is analyzing the phenomena of contemporary everyday life through the perspective of psycho-prism, including the link between management's (un)healthy behavior and the functioning of the organization. Through feuilletons "The truth about psychiatry " at daily newspaper "Jutarnji list" and then the book of the same name, he addressed the socially toxic effects of psychiatric treatment: the colonization of mental health by the pharmaceutical industry, epidemic use of psychopharmacs, psychiatrization of life through inflation of "newly discovered" mental disorders, with a consequent reduction in the proportion of normal people among the population. His observations were followed by strong reactions.
For many years, he has been working with people with problems with gambling, betting, drinking and drug abuse. Moreover, he is the author of several books on psychiatry of addiction and also a founder of the first therapeutic groups for gambling and betting addicts in Croatia.
