Dr. Ian Sutherland, born and raised in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada is an internationally recognized expert in the intersection of the arts and business. Dr. Sutherland was originally trained as a professional musician. He holds PhD in Sociology and Philosophy from the University of Exeter (UK). As an international researcher, educator and consultant he is combining expertise in sociology, philosophy, creativity and leadership studies. A sought after speaker and facilitator he has delivered courses, workshops, seminars and lectures in over 20 countries around the world.
As a consultant and organizational development practitioner he has worked with companies in the pharmaceuticals, consumer electronics, telecommunications, financial services and defense. Dr. Sutherland’s work occurs at the intersection of the arts and business. In particular his work is focused on leadership practice, creative and strategic processes, leveraging diversity and experiential arts-based methods of management and leadership development.
