Get ready for laughter that hits right at the heart of the workplace! Vlatko Štampar, one of Croatia’s most well-known and highly regarded stand-up comedians, is coming to HR Days to deliver not only entertainment, but also sharp reflection on everything that surrounds us in the business world.

Although a graduate architect by education, Vlatko built his career in a world where plans are flexible, deadlines are relative, and people are completely unpredictable. His signature humor is honest, direct, and unapologetic. Through laughter, he tackles topics that HR professionals and employees alike know all too well: everyday business (and not-so-business) situations, relationships between colleagues, the absurdities of modern work, team dynamics, office “culture,” and motivation that simply can’t be measured by KPIs.

Vlatko’s performances do more than make people laugh, they subtly encourage reflection on communication, engagement, and human psychology - the part of work that never appears in policies, yet fills HR calendars every single day. His humor goes beyond entertainment: it’s a mirror of the workplace as it really is. No buzzwords, no PowerPoint slides, no “best practices” - just plenty of truth, recognition, and laughter.

Get ready for a performance that will make you laugh until your eyes water, while also reminding you of something every HR professional and every team already knows: the workplace is much more than processes and procedures - and sometimes, laughter truly is the best tool for understanding and connecting people.

Vlatko Štampar at HR Days – laughter, truth, and HR reality in one unforgettable experience!

Čakovec-born comedian Vlatko Štampar began his career in the late 1980s, first managing to put a smile on his own mother’s face after unimaginable childbirth agony. After that first—and bloodiest—gig of his life, young Vlatko fell in love early on with making the people around him laugh. Just twenty-some years later, rumors began circulating through the stand-up underground of the metropolis of Zagreb about a good-natured giant with impeccable comedic manners. Starting out at what are now legendary open-mic nights at Purgeraj in Zagreb, this socially maladjusted man from Međimurje quickly proved himself a crowd favorite. As a participant in the formation of Zagreb’s stand-up scene, Vlatko Štampar became an unavoidable name in stand-up comedy “in this region”—except in Hungary. He performs at stand-up nights and comedy festivals in cities across the former country, and despite the language barrier (his mother tongue is Međimurje dialect), he manages with unusual physical ease to make hundreds and thousands of people laugh. For years now, Vlatko has been relentlessly and immoderately amusing visitors of Zagreb’s Studio Smijeha, while exposing his (own) twisted worldview and a rich imagination populated by talking animals (talking nonsense) and forbidden perversions that, taken out of context, could be considered criminal offenses. For those who haven’t “tried” him, Vlatko remains the never-found embodiment of all those absurd thoughts each of us has in that part of the mind we wisely choose to ignore. For those who have experienced him, Vlatko was—and remains—a valve, a tap of utterly insane associations which, combined with his irreplaceable manner, inevitably provoke laughter and make him one of the very best comedians “in this region.” Except in Hungary.
