Open-minded HR guy who loves the energy of meeting new people just as much as the quiet of a mountain hike. After seven years inside a fast-evolving matrix organization, Adam knows its ups, downs, and occasional plot twists.

As an International HR Business Partner at Alma Career, he is responsible for the HR agenda of the entire Product & Engineering Unit across multiple European countries. He works with developers, engineering leads, product managers, designers, data teams and local HR partners - supporting leaders, improving team dynamics, and shaping how a modern tech organization grows.

Adam combines a practical mindset with curiosity and empathy. He enjoys untangling complex organizational topics, helping leaders navigate change, and turning everyday matrix chaos into something closer to clarity.

What can you expect at the lecture titled ”Beyond Survival: Thriving in the Matrix World of Modern Tech”

If you’ve ever tried to navigate a matrix organization and thought, “Who actually owns this?”, you’re not alone. In modern tech companies, “clear ownership” and “matrix structure” often feel like contradictory terms. This talk is for anyone who’s lived through that tension… or is about to.

Drawing on our experience as an HR Business Partner and a Head of Delivery Management in a global tech environment, we’ll uncover what really happens when the matrix works and when it absolutely doesn’t. Expect honest insights about overlapping responsibilities, decision-making dead ends, and subtle cultural collisions that quietly impact performance. But more importantly, we’ll share the practical habits, leadership behaviors, and organizational tweaks that help the matrix structure deliver real value instead of chaos.

Our aim is to map the full landscape of matrix life in mid- to large-size tech organizations, especially those operating in any flavor of agile. While relevant to a wide audience, this session will resonate most with senior and middle management, as well as HR professionals responsible for enabling effective collaboration.

And yes, this is a two-speaker talk, but not a “devil vs. angel” setup. Think of it as two perspectives from the same side of the coin, looking at the matrix from different angles. In practice, a matrix organization revolves around four key roles: line managers, matrix managers, team members, and HR. Through our day-to-day work, we interact with all of these layers - and that’s exactly the multidimensional insight we’re bringing to the stage.

If you want to not just survive but truly thrive in the matrix world of modern tech, this is your roadmap.
